The desert shot, with me in bandana, was taken in the Grand Canyon's Nankoweap Creek, the drainage containing the most spectacular Anasazi ruins in the Grand Canyon. By day, one can hear Peregrine falcons, wind, Canyon wrens, Black throated sparrows, and Pinyon jays. By night, one can hear Canyon treefrogs and Red-spotted toads. This is the wonderful sound of the desert riparian areas in the West. Some of my best recordings were made in the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
