Ideas on Saving the Soundscape: I am a naturerecordist, birdwatching and I make recordings in Alentejo Portugal. I avoid cars and plains and I am now in the feature of one archive of the sounds in the region of Grândola.

Your interest in Natural Sound?: I am interested in the fight against sound pollution and I am interested in silence or music.I am also an audiophile. I study the identificacion of the species by sound. I am also interested in the biophony of the places. I geotag the places in freesoundproject for example.I have read from the soundscape in the naturecordists yahoo group.

I don't know if you have heard, but Bernie's new book will become available on March 19, 2012. It is 'The Great Animal Orchestra: Finding the Origins of Music in the World's Wild Places', and I believe you will be able to find it on Amazon.com in a variety of versions, hardbound, e-book (with sounds), audio book as read by the author, and in special shortened versions. Thanks for your note. I am wondering if you have read (or if you can find) Murray Schafer's book, 'The Tuning of the World'. You can also find an audiobook version of Bernie's 'Notes From the Wild', which you might enjoy, since it includes soundscapes. Let me know if I can help you find others! Cheers, Kat
