Hi, Shirin:
Have you recorded your canaries? Are they wild or caged? You could try the Olympus LS-10 mic/recorder. It's nifty, user-friendly gear and you could post the sounds here!
Hi Shirin! My apartment has double glazed windows so I tend not to hear birdsong when the windows are closed (which is most of the time as I live beside a busy road!). We do like observing the comings and goings of pigeons on the rooftops across the street though as one lands and then waits for its mate to return, looking around all the time. We also look at various birds perching in rows on electrical cables.
Welcome, Shirin! We'd value knowing your thoughts on what soundscape means to you, and what value you think it has to the culture. Please feel free to start a dialogue, add to the blog, join a group, and be part of the conversation as we refine and define the links between the natural and digital world!
