I think 'mastering' recording and software is a never ending process, and takes much patience for everyone. Attending a local workshop can be really helpful, Shirin, if you can find one around. Our most recent recommended mic/recorder combo is the Olympus LS-10: http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-LS-10-Linear-PCM-Recorder/dp/B0012754UG Perhaps you can share a bit of your Nightingale or Bee recordings here.
I have Zoom H4 handy recorder, and the software that edits, but so far have not mastered it yet. Mine are caged canaries and the sound is always around me but I think you will like my bees. Lead me to your recorder price, picture, and capabilities. I am nuts for crickets and would not mind if it plays all day long. And no matter what I will find an hour of recording from the bird Nightingale even if I have to get notes from here and there and patch them together.
Please get used to the way I write. I write the way I talk and in the office they give me 8 grader for communication but I am pretty good in a lot of other areas. Next I will tell you about my experience with the bird Nightingale. later
